Weston-super-Mare MP John Penrose has launched a new service to provide local residents who use twitter an easy way to keep up-to-date with what he’s doing for Weston, Worle and the villages.
The local MP has set up ‘JohnPenroseNews’, a public twitter profile which synchronises with the news feed on his website so followers receive his latest news updates. The move is part of a long-running initiative to make it easier for local residents to keep track of what he’s doing on their behalf. Earlier this year John launched his new website, www.johnpenrose.org, providing residents with a one-stop-shop to keep up-to-date with his campaigns and other work in the constituency.
John said: “It’s important that local people can keep track of what I’m doing on their behalf and tell me whether I’m getting it right or not. That’s why I’m always looking for new ways to let people know what I’m up to.
“JohnPenroseNews is a bit of an experiment as I won’t actually be tweeting. Instead, it will link to the news feed on my website so followers should be able to get the latest news updates.
“I hope that it proves successful and local people find it another useful tool to keep track of what I’m doing for Weston, Worle and the villages.”
